Όπως κάθε χρόνο έτσι και φέτος, για 21η φορά, η Ακαδημία Δαδραστικών Τεχνών και Επιστημών απένειμε τα βραβεία της στους τίτλους που κυκλοφόρησαν το προηγούμενο έτος και ξεχώρισαν σε διάφορες κατηγορίες. Μεγάλος νικητής, σε ακόμη μία απονομή βραβείων, ήταν το The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, το οποίο έλαβε το βραβείο Game of the Year, υποψήφια για το οποίο ήταν τα Cuphead, Horizon Zero Dawn, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds και Super Mario Odyssey. H Nintendo θα πρέπει να είναι ευχαριστημένη με τη αποδοχή των τίτλων της από τα μέλη της ακαδημίας, καθώς πολλοί από αυτούς κέρδισαν στις περισσότερες κατηγορίες.
Τέλος, θυμίζουμε πως πέρυσι το βραβείο Game of the Year είχε καταλήξει στο Overwatch της Blizzard, ενώ πρόπερσι ήταν η σειρά του Fallout 4 να αποσπάσει το βραβείο του καλύτερου παιχνιδιού.
