H Ubisoft “κατεβάζει τον διακόπτη” σε παλαιότερα multiplayer παιχνίδια της
Όπως επίσης και την πρόσβαση σε κάποια DLC για τους εν λόγω τίτλους.
Η Ubisoft ανακοίνωσε ότι αποφάσισε να προχωρήσει σε απενεργοποίηση των servers ορισμένων από τους παλαιότερους τίτλους της την 1η Σεπτεμβρίου.
Το κλείσιμο των servers σημαίνει ότι οι κάτοχοι πολλών τίτλων δεν θα μπορούν να παίξουν καθόλου το multiplayer κομμάτι τίτλων όπως οι: Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Driver San Francisco και Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
Επιπλέον, πολλοί τίτλοι για ηλεκτρονικούς υπολογιστές δεν θα μπορούν πλέον να εγκατασταθούν ή να έχουν πρόσβαση σε DLC, ενώ το single player campaign του Ghost Recon Future Soldier θα λειτουργεί μόνο σε offline mode σύμφωνα με την Ubisoft.
Η εταιρεία ισχυρίζεται ότι το κλείσιμο των online υπηρεσιών για ορισμένους παλαιότερους τίτλους, της επιτρέπει να επικεντρώσει τους πόρους της στην παροχή εξαιρετικών εμπειριών για παίκτες που παίζουν νεότερους ή πιο δημοφιλείς τίτλους της.
Τα Units και τα Challenges για τους τίτλους που χρησιμοποιούσαν το Ubisoft Connect θα απενεργοποιηθούν επίσης, πράγμα που σημαίνει ότι οι παίκτες δεν θα μπορούν πλέον να κερδίζουν Units με την ολοκλήρωση συγκεκριμένων εργασιών. Το όποιο περιεχόμενο θα μπορούσε να ξεκλειδωθεί μέσω του Ubisoft Connect, όπως χάρτες και skins, θα απενεργοποιηθεί επίσης, πράγμα που σημαίνει ότι οι παίκτες δεν θα μπορούν πλέον να τα ξεκλειδώνουν.
Να σημειώσουμε ότι αυτός είναι ο δεύτερος γύρος κλεισίματος servers από την Ubisoft για το 2022, καθώς τον περασμένο Απρίλιο, είχε προχωρήσει σε κλείσιμο των multiplayer κομματιών τίτλων όπως οι Avatar, Rainbow Six Vegas και Rainbow Six Vegas 2, σηματοδοτώντας το τέλος της δυνατότητας να παίζουμε επίσημα αυτούς τους τίτλους online.
