Διακρίσεις για Mario Kart 8, Witcher 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition
Μετά από ένα τρίωρο περίπου σε διάρκεια event, έγιναν γνωστοί όλοι οι νικητές των φετινών The Game Awards που έλαβαν χώρα στο Las Vegas, με οικοδεσπότη τον Geoff Keighley. Ανάμεσα στα παιχνίδια που ξεχώρισαν ήταν το Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor ως το καλύτερο action/adventure, το Super Smash Bros. για το Wii U ως το καλύτερο fighting, το Grand Theft Auto V ως το καλύτερο Remaster, το Valiant Hearts: The Great War για την καλύτερη εξιστόρηση και ως στην κατηγορία Games for Change, το Mario Kart ως το καλύτερο οικογενειακό παιχνίδι αλλά και Sports/Racing, καθώς και το Shovel Knight ως το καλύτερο παιχνίδι από ανεξάρτητη ομάδα.
Επίσης, ως καλύτερος developer αναδείχθηκε η Nintnendo, ενώ βραβεύθηκαν επίσης, κατά την διάρκεια του event, οι ιδρυτές της Sierra, Ken και Roberta Williams. Ακόμα, βραβείο έλαβε και ο ένας εκ των δημιουργών της σειράς South Park, Trey Parker, για τις πολλές ερμηνείες του στο South Park: The Stick of truth, καθώς και ο Marty O’Donnell, για το soundtrack του Destiny. Ως ο πιο αναμενόμενος τίτλος αναδείχθηκε το The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, ενώ ως καλύτερο παιχνίδι βραβεύθηκε το Dragon Age: Inquisition.
